More GPS tracking for the “Hiking Waterfalls in Oregon” guidebook led me to Upper McCord Creek Falls this week. This beautiful double-waterfall is just above the massive Elowah Falls. You can learn more about that hike, including directions, here.

is it true that it rains 300 days out of the year there? still has alot of beauty based on photos I have seen, never been past arizona as a teenager, never been to the nw or california.
Hi Roberta! According to weather stats, we average 165 rainy days a year. Believe it or not, we’re not even in the top 10 of rainiest cities in the U.S. It’s kind of like this – 4 months of the year it’s good and rainy, though our rain tends to be more of a mist or sprinkle than an actual dousing, 4 months of 50/50 rain and sun, and 4 months of dry. It’s a good mix to my liking. It certainly keeps things lush and beautiful!
